Our house church directory has been going for years and it’s the largest one out there, free to list and free to use. It’s been managed by too few people, and so we’re looking for a few new team members to take more and better ownership of it.
Most of the mechanical work is being automated, what’s left is the parts that need a person:
- Approving and improving new listings – we get a few each week and we want them to look good.
- Deciding what to do about groups – many haven’t renewed, but still have a page up — are they still meeting?
- Keeping connections with other directories in good order – because someone finding a gathering matters more than where they found it.
That’s judgment, not data entry, and it’s an 1-2 hours per week at minimum. Some WordPress experience helps.
This is to be part of a team, not just a to-do task list — so you’d have a say in how the directory is run and a section of your own.
