Chiesa Granello di Senape
Description
We are a Christian Church that proclaims the Gospel in its own territory.
Women and men are equal, as is the gift of the Holy Spirit to each of us. It is currently led by a bishop, but as it grows with other groups, there will be more bishops and a council of bishops to guide it.
Decisions, however, are made individually by each group, unanimously. We usually meet on Saturdays, so we can stay together until late, since we don’t work on Sundays. The Lord’s Supper is the final part of the meeting and is not merely symbolic, but includes a real meal, a banquet in honor of Jesus. We like to begin it with the breaking of bread (a single loaf from which each person takes a piece), and conclude it with the drinking of grape juice, which each of us pours for our neighbors, as servants to one another.
Offerings or tithes are not requested, but everyone knows where they can leave money anonymously. It is never requested, yet the Common Treasury is always abundant. With the money we use, we support small community expenses, but mostly the needs of the people in our area. We’ve also occasionally helped other churches in our area.
New members have joined us every year, a slow but steady growth. We focus on quality over quantity. Our baptisms are usually celebrated in the sea near our city.
We’re in touch with all the communities in our area and we are very active. Simply put, we strive to increasingly open our hearts to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and until now, He has always had something for us to do for His Kingdom. Praise be to God!
