Gwinnett Fellowship
Description
The first New Testament church, made up directly from Jesus’ disciples, was a house church (Acts 2:2). Later, “that day about 3000 were added (Acts 2:41). How many house churches did they have then? They all “met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity (Acts 2:46NLT). In the New Testament Believers never built a single church building, but only met in homes for “… teaching, fellowship, breaking bread and prayer (Acts 2:42).Christians never constructed a single church building for over 300 years, until the Roman Emperor, Constantine, directed the Christians to replace the pagans to meet in their former buildings – forever changing Jesus’ church functions and leaderships example. The church became a spectator church instead of a participator church. Jesus and the apostles had many reasons for only having house churches as the exclusive New Testament model.
